I Thought You Knew.....

Bullock was born on July 26 in Virginia, Washington. Her mother Helga was an opera singer, while her dad John was a vocal coach. Meanwhile, her grandfather was a rocket scientist from Germany!

Sandra apparently suffers from an unusual allergy to horses. The Speed star only discovered the news in 1996 when she was working on the film Two If By Sea.

If being beautiful and a talented actress wasn't enough already, Sandra Bullock is also a generous charity donator on the quiet. She has given the impressive sum of $1 million (£607,865) to the American Red Cross twice!

There's hope for all us chubby gym-dodgers yet! Sandra reportedly likes her men with a little meat on their hips. "There's something sexy about a gut. I haven't been to the gym in a year," she says. "Not a beer gut, just a little paunch. I love that."

Have you always wanted to smell like Sandra Bullock? If you have ever had such a strange fantasy, then purchase some Dune by Christian Dior - apparently it's her favourite scent. Further bizarre facts include that her favourite drinks are Heineken, Rolling Rock and tequila!

Bullock has landed some plum roles in her time, but she's also been very lucky. Demi Moore was originally lined up for romcom While You Were Sleeping and she replaced Lori Petty in 1993's Demolition Man. She's also occasionally missed out on parts, such as the lead in Richard Gere's Runaway Bride.

Michael Jackson's hit single 'Bad' was originally going to be a duet with fellow '80s pop icon Prince. The tabloid press often described the pair as rivals and Jackson apparently wanted to play on that up until the song's release. Prince said later that he turned the offer down because he knew it "would be a hit without [him] on it".

When he was in the Jackson 5, little Michael appeared on the US equivalent of Blind Date - The Dating Game. The young popstar got to ask the questions and was allowed to pick a date from three "bachelorettes". Sadly, love never blossomed.

Jackson's incredible slant/lean in the 'Smooth Criminal' video is one of his most famous dance moves. However, did you know that the singer actually patented the "anti-gravity shoes", which helped him pull off the move? The boots, which he worked on with Michael L. Bush and Dennis Tompkins, had a "specially designed heel slot", which allowed their owner to "lean forwardly beyond his centre of gravity".

Jackson may never have won an Oscar, but that wasn't going to stop him owning one. The 'Thriller' singer paid $1.4million at an auction in 1999 for the Gone With The Wind Best Picture gong. A spokesperson said that it had been Jacko's "lifelong desire to own that particular object".

Jackson was often criticised by the media for his unusual parenting skills, but one man who did trust the singer was soul music legend Lionel Richie. Alongside producer Quincy Jones, Jackson was made a godfather to Lionel's daughter Nicole.

Did you know that Jimmy Carter (39th President of the United states) was the first U.S President to be born in a hospital. He was born at Wise Clinic in Plains, Georgia on October 1, 1924.
