Aluu Killings: Police Arrest 21 Suspects

                                 

The police said they have arrested 21 persons who appeared in the video clips of the gory killing of the four  undergraduates of University of Port Harcourt in Aluu Community, Rivers State.
Force spokesman, Frank Mba, who disclosed this to journalist in his office yesterday, said the traditional ruler of Aluu community, Alhaji Hassan Welawa, was indicted by intelligence as one of the key persons that encouraged the mob to carry on with their  gruesome murder of the students.


Mba, who also fielded questions from the media, said the 21 suspects identified from the video clip were different from the 13 suspects earlier reportedly arrested, saying that the investigative process was in progress and that many people played different roles at various stages of the crime.

The spokesman, who did not confirm whether any policeman  was arrested in connection with the killings, also disclosed that they were investigating the claim that some security operatives watched idly while the mob killed and burned the quartet.

Mba disclosed that the police were on the trail of one Cokson Lelebori Lucky, alas Bright, said to be the person who raised the alarm that the students were thieves.
Mba gave the names of some of the suspects that appeared on the video clip participating in the gruesome killing to include Segun Lawal, Filemo Solomon, Cynthia Chinwo, Ozioma Abajuo and

“We want to let Nigerians know that our determination to get to the root of this matter is strong and we are committed and assuring the entire country that we would leave no stone unturned to ensure that all the persons involved in this act both directly and indirectly are fished out and brought to book”
